How to Find the Best Singing Coach For You

Singers tend to get all of the glory. They get the applause, they get the attention and they get the awards. However, one thing that they didn't get is there on their own. In fact, the great singers always credit their singing coach with helping them to attain greatness. It is easy for anyone to claim that they are a top notch singing instructor, but what truly makes a wonderful singing coach?
Singing coaches come in a variety of different disciplines. Some of them specialize in classical techniques, while others prefer pop music, and others prefer the Broadway genre. In order to find the best one for you, you must determine what type of singer you want to be. If your dream is to sing opera working with an R&B singing coach will not necessarily prepare you for the demands of your chosen music field.
Next you will want to take a look at the educational background of your prospective singing coach. You want someone who has a technical background in music. Ideally, you want someone who has a master's degree in music. However, at the least you want someone that has a bachelor's degree in vocal performance. That degree will certify that they have gone through the necessary training to tell you what to do and how to do it safely.
Professional experience is also important in evaluating a singing coach. The old saying may say "those who can't do teach," but that is not what you want in a singing coach. Instead, you want someone who has had experience in what they are teaching you to do. Ideally, if they have had extensive performance training that is what you want. However, extensive teaching experience may be another indicator of a good teacher. See if you can get some reference letters from students or colleagues to give you an idea of their professional prowess.
How much a singing coach charges is important to many people as well. Unfortunately, we are living in difficult economic times and that means that not everyone can afford extra lessons. Generally singing lessons range from half hour sessions to a full hour. Typically singing teachers charge a dollar a minute which means that your lesson could cost you as much as $60 an hour if not more.
For some aspiring singers this is simple not possible. In those cases you may want to look for a singing coach in a setting other than a private lesson. Some teachers offer group lessons. This type of lesson includes several different people at a much more affordable lesson rate. While you will not get the individualized attention of a private lesson you will still get the education that you are looking for.

Prepare for the common interview questions which generally are regarding your attitude and personality. Here are some of them.
1) Why do you want to leave current job?
This interview question is very tricky and you must answer this question calmly but firmly. Do not blame your previous company for internal politics, low salary package and such other reasons. It is the most unprofessional approach towards your company. You can answer such questions mentioning career scope, learning environment and larger exposure. Some negative reasons like salary increment, monetary benefits should be avoided.
2) What is your current designation?
Here you are supposed to mention the nature of your work. So, just mention your duties and responsibilities. Do not boast while answering this question. Instead, you can mention your experience in this firm and work profile.

4) Introduce yourself:
The most frequently asked question is: tell me about yourself. You should include three basic points while answering this question.
- Personal background: mention your hometown, parents and their occupation. Do not be too narrative while mentioning this. If you have a big family, do not provide details of every candidate.

Argument For Legislation Limiting Children's Exposure to Second Hand Smoke

Children and infants are especially susceptible to the effects of second hand cigarette smoke. This is because young children their lung capacity as related to their body weight is larger than that of an adult, their immune system is not as developed as that of an adult, and they are less likely to complain and/or remove themselves from the environment that causes the exposure. In other words, children are biologically geared to inhale more of the toxins present in cigarette smoke than their adult counterparts. Second hand smoke exposes children to a number of carcinogens (cancer causing substances), and when the environment is such that air flow is limited, such as inside a home or vehicle, those carcinogens are especially concentrated. There are more than four thousand substances present in tobacco smoke, more than forty of which are known carcinogens. These substances include formaldehyde, arsenic, vinyl chloride, lead, cadmium and nickel, as well as a host of other chemicals that are completely unpronounceable.
The effects of environmental tobacco smoke range from the relatively benign to serious health consequences. The irony of tobacco smoke is that the chemicals that are present in second hand smoke are often more concentrated than the smoke that a smoker takes into his or her lungs. Among the effects that second hand smoke has on children are increases in the frequency of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, an increase in the severity or frequency of existing asthma episodes and/or symptoms, a reduction in the flow of oxygen to tissues and reduced lung function in general, and an increase of fluid in the middle ear. Second hand smoke has also been associated with frequent ear infections, throat infections, an increase in the frequency and severity of colds and sore throats, poor or slowed growth, childhood cancers, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Second hand smoke is thought to be responsible for more than 10% of all cases of childhood asthma, more than 16% of all physician office visits for cough and more than 20% of all lung infections in children under the age of five. Smoking is also responsible for a number of children's deaths from cigarette-related home fire.
There is little doubt that adults are aware of the overall dangers of cigarette smoke. Less than 10% of individuals believe that second hand smoke presents no danger whatsoever to the non-smoker. However, many people are not aware of how the effects of second hand smoke are compounded in children. Because of the increased danger of tobacco smoke, several states are considering legislation that would ban smoking around children under a certain age (generally fifteen) in any enclosed area, especially a vehicle.
Arguably, smoking is not against the law for any individual over the age of eighteen. Therefore, many adults do not consider their smoking as anything other than a legal right. Any attempts to limit that right are generally met with significant resistance and protest. However, as cigarette smoke is so dangerous to others, especially children, it can be argued that the only way to prevent harmful effects to non-smokers is to effect legislation that limits the rights of smokers. To date, most states have initiated some form of indoor smoking bans. These bans have been met with protest and resistance from smokers and non-smokers alike. The smokers protest that they have a legal right to smoke and the non-smokers protest that the government is limiting the rights of the smoker, and that those limitations may lead to the limitation of other rights. Non-smokers that are in favor of legislation that limits the rights of smokers argue that the legislation would not deny the right of a smoker to smoke, but would instead enforce the right of the non-smoker to remain healthy. Much like the use of alcohol, the use of cigarettes would, under the enactment of such legislation, be legal only in the sense that such use would not violate the rights of others. As alcohol is legal only in as much as it does not endanger others, so would the use of tobacco be legal only in as much as it does not endanger others.
To date, Arkansas, Louisiana, Washington, Vermont, and Texas have already initiated some form of legislation that bans smoking around young children. Many states are ordering that children involved in custody disputes and/or divorce cases are provided with a smoke free environment. However, these cases are often the result of one parent complaining about the other parent's smoking around the children. Additionally, as the courts are intervening in a child's home environment, there the legal system must either stop requiring a smoking ban in such cases or that it must apply the ban uniformly across every household, not merely the ones involved in civil litigation. Children's rights groups are calling the exposure of young children to second hand smoke a form of child abuse and are rallying for legislation that limits the smoking of any individual around children. In Arkansas, any individual who is caught violating the ban against exposing children to second hand smoke can be fined $25, but can avoid the fine if they show proof of enrollment in a stop smoking program.
It can be argued that legislation that bans smoking around children, in cars, homes, or other enclosed areas, is a position that places the health of children above the bad habits of the adults that care for them and above the civil liberties of those adults. Regardless of their oppositions, adults must realize that current research overwhelmingly indicates that the effects of second hand smoke on children are predominantly negative and that these effects must be curbed in any way possible and as quickly as possible. With many states already employing statewide smoking bans that protect all non-smokers from the effects of tobacco smoke, it must be realized that states cannot enact such legislation without also considering what they can do to protect children. Smokers have been presented with the knowledge that second hand smoke is harmful to others for many years, yet parents and other caregivers continue to smoke around their young charges. Obviously, something other than educating smokers to the harmful effects must be done to prevent smoking around children.
It can be argued that such a ban would be inherently difficult to enforce. It has also been argued that seat belt laws and drunken driving laws would be difficult to enforce, yet fewer people drink and drive and more people buckle up on the nation's highways. However true the argument regarding enforcement is, remember it is often not the legal system itself that prevents individuals from violating ordinances such as smoking bans, drunken driving laws, and seat belt laws, but the fear of the legal repercussions of violating the laws. Additionally, many individuals have found that the enactment of smoking bans have given them the incentive they needed to stop smoking themselves, just as states' enactment of new seat belt regulations spurred more individuals to employ the use of their seat belts, regardless of their initial resentment of the legislation. For some people, the right to harm themselves just isn't worth the fight in the long run.

Tips For Teaching Your Child Spanish

1. Sing a Song
Songs are one of the easiest ways to learn a new language. There are many Spanish songs available which are fun, upbeat, and educational. By singing, your child is encouraged to practice the words in a non-threatening environment. Many Spanish songs "canciones de cuna" also have dances which encourage the child to reach, touch, or jump. These songs use movement to teach your child new words. By adding physical objects such as toys you can easily illustrate the objects or actions that are sung. In this way songs can stimulate many of your child's senses in a fun, relaxed environment which encourages learning.
For toddlers and babies, singing in a higher pitched, softer voice has been shown to peak interest, relax and comfort while introducing spoken language. Don't be shy if you are not a great singer, your soft voice will soothe your child and enable them to focus on your words.
2. The "Abuelita" Factor
If you have a Grandparent that speaks Spanish this is the perfect time to get "Abuelita" involved in your child's learning. Have "Abuelita" speak to your child only in Spanish; she will likely cherish the opportunity to pass on the Spanish language and culture to future generations. Having a loved one or parent speak in only Spanish creates a clear distinction in your child's mind as to what words are being said in English and what words are being said in Spanish.
3. Let's get Comfortable
Speak to your child in Spanish for everyday communication like vamos a comer (let's eat) or abre la puerta (open the door) this increases their comfort level in everyday communication and creates an informal learning environment where learning comes naturally. Using real world situations reaffirms the words they've previously learned.
4. Reading is Fun
If you are comfortable reading to your child in Spanish, read from a storybook each night. At the end of the story ask questions to ensure your child is grasping the concepts. If you are not comfortable with reading aloud, use audio books that can be borrowed from your local library to ensure your child is learning. Get your child involved in their learning by allowing them to choose which book they want to read next.
5. Use Movement
It is no secret that kids like to be active. In helping kids to learn Spanish we can use this to our advantage. For example, associating the act of jumping with the word "brinca" is a quick way to build your child's comfort level with Spanish. Acting out the word is a quick and easy way to get your child involved in Spanish.

How to Get College Grants If You Are a Single Mother

Even though the economy is not good at this time but it doesn't mean that it'll be like this forever. It's going to improve and as a single mother you can improve your chances to get a good job by obtaining a college degree that'll help you in long run.
Remember, being a single parent is not an easy job. It'll test your patience, determination and your luck in this messy economy. It's not easy but it can be done.
How can you do this? Here are simple ideas and tips that'll help you.
1. Apply for scholarship at colleges - If you are planning to get back into the college and earn a degree that'll help you then it's pretty easy to apply. Federal government provides everything these days to help single mothers to go back to college and earn and improve their living by getting the right education.
2. How to apply for scholarship with federal government?
You have to find a licensed institution which provides a training course and apply. You need to apply and fill the federal loan application to obtain help after you've submitted your college application.
This money will go towards your tuition, books and other college related expense. Remember, only those people who cannot afford their education can actually get this scholarship.
Other random yet important tips.
3. Organization - Often colleges or govt bodies requires you to submit application in an order. So you have to take care of the complete forms and other papers that are required to be sent as an application.
Always read the forms and prospectus in complete detail. It'd do no good, if your application got rejected because you missed a small detail.
4. Send your application with registered mail service - Often government bodies do not send any confirmation of the receipt of your application. So it's better for your mental health to send them through a registered mail. At least you'd be sure that it reached into right hands.

When Chemistry Sets Are Right For Your Child

As a responsible, loving parent, you're always looking for enjoyable, constructive activities to introduce to your children. Whether you've been a chemistry buff all your life, or just thought of chemistry sets out of the blue, and are suddenly inspired to give one to your children, it's a good guess that you should check your intentions before you buy. Even with the best of your intentions, you can waste money on an educational toy by giving it to your child who finds they are not the least bit interested in it. Even though you thought it was a good idea!
The trick to finding out if a chemistry set is really a "good-choice", present for your child, is simple. Don't go on what you "think" they would like, go on what you KNOW they would like.
The no-brainer of course, is the scenario where your own hobby of playing with chemistry attracts your children's natural curiosity in what you are doing, and with your warm, loving bond as a parent, you include them and complement them as welcomed participants. Guaranteed, they will develop a keen interest in chemistry.
But what if you're like most parents and feel like they're shooting in the dark when it comes to finding fun, but educational toys, that will inspire their children to accelerated enjoyment of learning at school? The answer here is, to become even more inquisitive, observational, and conversational yourself!
See, listen, and discuss what your child is, by his or her nature, naturally attracted to.
If it's flips on a broad beam, skateboarding, or nuking an invisible batch of invading aliens on a computer game, you still don't really know if your child would embrace a chemistry set as an exciting alternative, or addition to their enjoyable hobbies.
Based on what he or she likes doing, "NOW" you may never know. That is until you interact with your child to discover his or her intellectual needs and curiosities.
While all your son or daughter is currently focused on is baseball scores, you may have not noticed that they also wonder about simple things such as, "Why does the dough you make for our garlic bread and pizza seem to grow while it's sitting, and waiting to go into the oven?"
Listen to your child's questions about what they are seeing you doing. Watch what your child likes to do most while playing. Listen to what your child tells you.
When your daughter makes an off-hand scientific comment that she's always wondered how you make bubbles, tell her you'll show her, and get her a chemistry set! If you think your son was born for the NHL, but hear him ask you why this substance mixed with this substance produces a beautiful blue, he's telling you without even knowing it, about his natural interest in chemistry, and get him a chemistry set!

20 Ways to Obtain More Time

In light of Mike Dillard's webinar and product on what's working now in internet marketing, I would like to pose a few questions for about your use of time for self examination and the give you 20 ways to create more time, and take control of the time you have. Mike Dillard magnetic sponsoring has been a fundamental key in anyone's actually making and conserving time in the internet world and has been a breakthrough for many marketers.
How often do you take the things that are truly important to you and focus in on those?
* Every day
* On weekends
* Hardly Ever
During a typical day do you?
* Do what you planned to Do?
* Follow a forced routine gets in the way of plans?
* Respond impulsively to whatever interruptions come along?
At the end of the day have you?
* Accomplished those important things?
* Finished the needed work, perhaps poorly?
* Had no time for what really matters?
If you answered the second or third options for most of the questions posed, do not despair.
Many people feel they are just rushing through life, devouring information, and if employed and have a family, just meeting the needs and demands that others impose. Its one crisis after another. You may even feel that you are not even experiencing life in this world.
The circumstances do not really change. The care still has to be fixed, the kids taken to the doctor and do on.
You tell yourself that this is all temporary and things will change. It will get better. But when? Is there an opening in your schedule today? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Realistically the world will not slow down. You will possibly need more control in your life in order to overcome these challenges.
To have more time for what matters, you'll have to know what does really matter. What are your goals and values? To evaluate what your values are and define your goals that you will use to obtain them.
Your values can be anything from family to work and education. Your goals must align with your values and become the means to the end for your values, since goals can be temporary as they are achieved and values are much more eternal.
Decide which goals are important to you as you write them, and make sure they are compatible with your values. Goals such as spending more time with your family, having a cool hobby, reading a book, or even writing a book can all be considered, but if your goal is to become extremely rich, you are likely setting yourself up for potential conflict.
As your goals are set, consider the activities that will help you to reach a goal. For example if one of your goal is to lose weight, then exercising is an activity that will help you do that.
How can this Analysis help you spend more time wisely?
If your goals harmonize with your values and you carry out the activities that carry out the goals that you have set, you would have aligned yourself with spending more time on what really matters. This will not happen overnight of course, but will be a process that far into the future.
Now we would have to move from just optimistic theory to real practice.
1. Keep a daily to do list. Mike Dillard talked about this on his webinar. Writing five things down every day that you must accomplish.
2. Schedule your most important tasks. Its better to find time later for the less important ones.
3. Schedule less. This would seem to conflict with the other ways, but if you schedule too much in one day you will be setting yourself up for failure.
4. Have time wasting awareness. How much of your time is spent on interruptions and unimportant browsing and channel surfing?
5. Set goals over which you do actually have control. Going for a promotion at work will only give you minimal satisfaction as you go about reaching more income.
6. Know that you will not have time for everything in the world. There is just too much information and information ignorance will benefit you in saving time.
7. Sync your calendars, pdfs, cells, or Google schedule. Some have syncable software or just make sure they carry their calendar with them always.
8. Make sure you have an action plan. Having things written in order will keep it together for you.
9. Allow time for unexpected things to creep up. At least 15 minutes between appointment, and longer if more travel time is needed will give you leeway for things that come up.
10. Don't be a perfectionist. Know when its time to move on or put a project to the side.
11. Force yourself to work now. Don't wait for right mood or time. Make it happen as a professional and consistent.
12. Think on paper. Write down problems, face them, and list ways to minimize them.
13. Apply the 80/20 rule. Your production will be generated by only %20 of your work as a rule of thumb.
14. Use transition time. Use that travel or waiting in line time on something valuable that can build your own value and education.
15. Do the worst thing first. The most boring or time consuming activity may need to be taken out first to move on to better things.
16. Schedule the most demanding metal or physical work for a time when you are most energetic and able to function better.
17. Take time to recharge and get away. Many times rest and relaxation is just needed to take things on. When you come back, you'll be more relaxed and focused instead of nervous and tense.
18. Minimize those interruptions. Every phone call or email need not be answered or read if it takes you out of your rhythm of production.
19. Be flexible. Change of plans is going to need to be enabled.
20. Keep your mindset simple and on the bigger picture. If you've got to build a list of customers, you'll have to focus in, and know what the next step and the step after that is, not getting sidetracked.
Making time for what matters with value, goals, and consistent action activities will help the time work in your favor so you'll be singing "time its on my side" over and over some day.
The Mike Dillard magnetic sponsoring e-book can help many to start on spending a lot of time on growth, but in the long run it saves a lot of time in doing things the hard way. There are no shortcuts but building a foundation for a business plan will certainly start with this outline if you are planning on utilizing the fundamentals of Facebook, YouTube, and other forms of advertising that has been so leveraged by top internet marketers on the web.
My personal belief has been raised for having more time in the near future due to the simplistic teaching of Mike Dillard and magnetic sponsoring affiliate products. I hope yours has been as well.

Don't Be a Statistic and Become One of the 97% of Network Marketers Making 3 Deadly Mistakes

After 10 years in the industry, I wanted to show you the three deadly mistakes 97% of the network marketers make, and the choice will be yours, you can fix them or you will be a statistic. Let me say, that I had made these mistakes too when I first started out, but I overcome them and so can you. Know that if you did not know, you will now and you can make changes.
The number one mistake is that they have a mindset that they will make millions overnight. They totally dismiss the work that you have to do to build a network marketing business. I will tell you with my experience, even today, I feel I am invincible and I can do it overnight, but I take a reality check and know it will take longer. Now, remember, if it was that easy, why would the company need you? Do you honestly believe everyone in the company is a bunch of bumbling idiots and you are better? Now, yes, your past may give you an edge, but there are lots of people out there like you. Yes, network marketing allows you to compress time, but it is not a fairy granting everyone wishes. This is one of the reasons that you will see a large attrition rate in any business, because a lot of people that join you will be in this like mindset.
The second mistake is that marketers do not invest in knowledge. Let me give you the example that today, you woke up and you were having pains in your side and it was something that brought tears to your eyes to battle through the pain. You decided that you needed to go see a doctor because you knew it was kidney stones. So you rush down to the closest doctor and said you were in significant pain. As the nurse walked you into the examining room you noticed it was a young man or woman about 18 years of age. You told the nurse that someone was in the room and she said, no that is fine that was the doctor. You would think they were joking and laugh, but the nurse told you seriously that they decided the night before to be a doctor.
That would be insane and you would walk out. Now, since most marketers span in age and experiences, how long did you take to learn your current career? Do you do it flawless and perfect and you could not change a thing to become better? No. we all are learning. Now, this is where I laugh, because I have seen what many networking companies offer for training and it is a combination of infomercial and high school pep rally. I know, because I train people every day and where they come from is the exact place where you may be struggling with. You need to invest in your training. If you cut this short, you are doing yourself a dis-service. You want to know tools, approaches, how to market, where your customers are at and how to put the product in the right peoples hands.
The last mistake, and these are not in any specific order, but it is that you are a marketer and you need to market. Most people come into the industry and they focus on just networking. Well that is only a piece of what you do. Let me say, if you are networking, you could go to a pub and meet great people, you can go to a civic organization and you can network, you can go to a sporting event and network. But how many of these people are really having a need, want and desire for what you have? This is where you forgot half of what you do. If you had a product for women and went to a football game, there are more men than women, is that a good use of your time?
Now that you know the pitfalls, you have a choice. What leads to success will be if you take the time and work, get educated and then take the education forward to network market and you will see success.

Other Internet marketing training you will have to spend a little money on would include how to program an autoresponder and do email marketing. It could also include other types of paid advertising including ezine marketing, classified ads, traffic exchanges, directory submissions, and more.
When you look at free advertising using article marketing in a couple of different ways is important. Having content articles written, or doing it yourself is an important part of the Internet training you should learn.
Articles can be used in blogs and submitted through social networking sites. They can also be submitted to article directories online which give you valuable back links and search engine spider bait.
All of this may sound overwhelming, but it's comforting to know that you can learn everything about Internet marketing. It doesn't take a special degree or college education to do it either.
It is worth investing in some education as opposed to doing trial and error methods. You will often spend more money trying things that fail than you would if you would just paid to be properly trained to begin with.
In summary as we look at Internet marketing training, and how to market a business online, you can see you have some learning to do. However in this case the end does justify the means.

Porn Blocking Software

Porn blocking software is a fantastic tool to protect your children from pornographic websites or other inappropriate content. What is this "other inappropriate content?" It should be up to you, as a parent, to decide what that definition is. Whether it be a website on how to make weapons such as bombs or makeshift guns, or websites about how to enlarge a man's penis with a magic pill, it should be up to you to decide.
There is a lot of pornographic material on the internet. In fact, it has been cited that a full 12 percent of websites are dedicated to porn which is, unsurprisingly, a multi-billion dollar industry. Further, hundreds of new sites that have porn are created every minute! This fact is very important to remember when you look for porn blocking software because of how the software works.
Most porn blocking software works by checking the URL of a webpage against a database that contains a list of URLs that have been known to have questionable content.
A "URL" is short for "Universal Resource Locator" but it is the text that is found in your browser's address bar. For example, Google's URL is http://www.google.com, Yahoo's URL is http://www.yahoo.com, and so on. With this in mind, there is a gaping hole in the security and effectiveness on many porn blocking software programs. These software programs are only as good as the list it keeps. This means that these hundreds of new sites that have harmful content may not be in your porn blocking software's latest database as it only checks the URL and not the content of the webpage.
It bears repeating that the very common drawbacks of all porn blocking software are these: they only check the URLs of a webpage and not the actual webpage and it is nearly impossible to keep up with the hundreds of new harmful sites that are created each minute so it is highly likely that your software's database is already out of date. This is why you get frustrated when you receive an email that shows men how they can enlarge their penis or when you are surfing the internet and a very graphic pop-up is shown even after you have installed your software program. Your porn blocking software may be working just fine but it is most probable that it is just out of date.
None of this is to scare you into thinking parents and even school administrators in charge of the library's computers have no recourse and porn blocking software is a bad idea. It is not a bad idea and it is better than to have no protection at all. Rather, there are guidelines and features you must have in mind when you are looking for software programs to protect your children. Good ones are out there and they are not all created equal. Do your homework and be educated. Doing so is the best way to know what is best for you and your kids.
